Welcome to the fourth episode of Slice TV, a Perth Corporate Videos Blog interviewing the movers and shakers of Perth business and industry. It was a fortuitous time to interview Darrel about LinkedIn on the day that Microsoft bought out the company for a tidy some of money. Darrel gives us some insights into how to best use LinkedIn to help your company, business or self interests. If you are looking for how to use this digital tool then this interview will provide you with some basic information on how to get started. From how to set up your profile page to what to post and how to post it. The best point I took away from the interview is that LinkedIn is a social tool so the number one thing is to just be social. We shall talk to Darrel more in the future about social media so stay tuned. How to Use LinkedIn to Promote Yourself and Your Business | 888-996-9697
How to Use LinkedIn to Promote Yourself and Your Business http://VideoBroadcastServices.com For professionals and businesspeople, LinkedIn is the most happening social media platform to be on. While most people just upload their resume or profile on LinkedIn and use it as a tool to search for old classmates and colleagues, some actively use it to network for better job openings or business opportunities. In fact, LinkedIn, if used smartly and strategically, can be one of the best and most effective ways to promote yourself and your business. No matter what your job type or industry, LinkedIn is the place where you can network and build connections with professionals from your industry, find mentors, and promote your services and products. It doesnt matter if you are a freelancer or employed in an organization or own a company of your own. LinkedIn can help you take your career to a whole new level. Heres what you have to do to make this happen! LinkedIn provides personal pages and company pages. Set up a company page for your organization or business. This gives a brand value and a professional image to the messages and updates you post, as opposed to when you post it as an individual. Make sure that your headline is concise and accurate. This will appear under your name and every time someone sees your picture. So make sure it is easy to understand and still makes an impact. Make it catchy and include any keywords that you think will be used when people search for you or the services you offer. Make sure your photograph is professionally taken. Try to exclude any distracting backgrounds and make sure your face is the main focus. Network and build up your contacts. Make sure your contact list is relevant to the industry and business you are in. Ask for recommendations from people that have worked for you. The more recommendations you have, the more robust the social proof of your professionalism is. One of the best ways to get recommendations is to write recommendations for people you know. This usually makes people feel good enough to reciprocate with a recommendation back for you! Use LinkedIns Add Sections feature to add content which you have created on other online platforms, such as WordPress, SlideShare or even Twitter. If you have a website, link your website to your LinkedIn profile page. Ensure that the summary section on your profile page of LinkedIn is search engine optimized by using keywords that are most likely to get people to find you. Update your page frequently with new articles. Include attractive graphics or infographics as well. Engage in groups or start your own group. Take part in discussions so you can expand your network and get people to know you. Once you have your LinkedIn page set up, the next step would be to promote it. Use your LinkedIn URL on your email signature line, resume, visiting cards, etc. Doing this ensures your profile keeps working for you even when you have logged off of LinkedIn! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkXNtw0Ys2E
