The more recommendations you have, the more robust the social proof of your professionalism is. One of the best ways to get recommendations is to write recommendations for people you know. This usually makes people feel good enough to reciprocate with a recommendation back for you! Use LinkedIns Add Sections feature to add content which you have created on other online platforms, such as WordPress, SlideShare or even Twitter. If you have a website, link your website to your LinkedIn profile page. Ensure that the summary section on your profile page of LinkedIn is search engine optimized by using keywords that are most likely to get people to find you. Update your page frequently with new articles. Include attractive graphics or infographics as well. Engage in groups or start your own group. Take part in discussions so you can expand your network and get people to know you. Once you have your LinkedIn page set up, the next step would be to promote it.
